IDA is the professional trade association representing independent, family-owned beverage distributors throughout Illinois. We champion the economic and civic contributions of our members while advocating for fair regulatory frameworks that protect consumers, retailers, and brewers.

Distributors are the vital link in the Three-Tier System. We purchase beverages from domestic and international suppliers, store them in state-of-the-art temperature-controlled warehouses, manage local logistics, and deliver to licensed retailers including local restaurants, bars, and grocery stores.

Established following the repeal of Prohibition, the Three-Tier System separates beverage manufacturers (Tier 1), distributors (Tier 2), and retailers (Tier 3). This independent structure ensures product safety, promotes fair competition, prevents monopolies, and guarantees efficient state and local tax collection.

IDA members are family-owned, independent wholesale distributors including Skeff Distributing, Donnewald Distributing, Brewers Distributing, Grey Eagle Distributors, Golden Eagle Distributing Inc., and Golden Eagle Distributing LLC.
